What a beautiful place to stay! Everything new and spotlessly clean. You can take walks from the house. You are also within walking distance of the beautiful lake. A supermarket (by Swedish standards) close by and you can be in the city within half an hour. Nina and Thomas ensure that you will not lack anything!

Holiday in Acksjön – Sweden, August 2022
After a beautiful car trip from Nijmegen to Acksjön (approx. 45 min. drive above Karlstad on the right) with an overnight stay at a campsite in Denmark, our group of 4 adults and 2 children (5 and 6) arrived at the holiday home of Nina and Thomas that we rented for 10 days.
Easy to reach by car and nicely located near a beautiful lake. The cottage looked attractive, was in perfect order - there were even board games for the children - and we could move in right away. The location fully met our expectations, after visiting their beautiful website...
Much use has been made of the very spacious wooden terrace with a view of the lake and which can be covered against the sometimes very bright sun. With the beautiful weather we sat every morning on this terrace in the just risen sun with fresh coffee and fruit drink having a delicious breakfast. A large tent (arranged as a service by Thomas and Nina) offered extra space because our group was actually a bit too large for this house.
On the spacious field on the terrace side of the cottage, we made a large campfire several evenings at the setting sun of the abundant wood and of course we also barbecued several times.
We went out by car for several days. For example, we visited a very nice swimming pool with beautiful slides in Karlstad (the children didn't want to leave it anymore), we also visited a 'climbing park' near Karlstad, where you take an exciting course along and between trees, we went to 'Our Little Farm' in Ekshärad (with Dutch owners) and rented ponies and horses with which we went into nature, we had a wonderful swim in the open air and we went canoeing at 'our own' lake for an afternoon.
Of this wonderful - but much too short - holiday, the walks in the immediate vicinity in the beautiful nature, the clear starry sky at night, and the peace and space present, will stay with me best.
