Nature lovers will fully enjoy

The environment of Sjö och träd is attractive to anyone who enjoys being outdoors. The cottage is located in a quiet location, surrounded by nature. With just a few steps you are next to a stream, between the trees. Here you are directly on a marked hiking trail where you can walk a route of 3.5, 7.5 or 15 kilometers. There is a good chance that you will not meet anyone during the walk. The sounds you hear are the twitter of birds, the babbling brook and the sound of wind in the trees.

Lake Acksjön

From the terrace of the cottage you can look through the trees at Lake Acksjön. The length of this lake is about 2 kilometers and it is 750 meters wide. Not a huge lake for Swedish standards, but a wonderful place to relax. With a book on the waterfront or enjoying yourself from the water.

Filipstad is also well-known because of Nils Ferlin. This poet, who was also an actor, moved from Karlstad to Filipstad at the age of ten. Hence, this is where the Ferlin Museum is located. In the museum you follow the life of the poet, from growing up in Filipstad with revues and acting, during the bohemian years in Stockholm and Klara where he developed into one of our most popular poets, until his last years in Roslagen.

Nature

Filipstad is located on the elongated lake Daglösen. Take a stroll along the water and discover what Filipstad has to offer. On the west side of Filipstad you can practice various sports at Kalhyttan in both summer and winter.

This is a horizontal mine, where you enter through a tunnel and see with your own eyes what a mine looks like inside. There are many beautiful hiking trails through the forest and along the lake.
